I am Beatrix, an award-winning Hungarian artist, living in South London with my family. I fell in love with art when I first saw Disney’s ’Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs’ at the age of 6. Despite having four degrees in marketing and economics, I decided to pursue my childhood dream of becoming an artist.

I have been working as an author-illustrator and art tutor, but my greatest passion has always been painting. My themes mainly include portraits or figurative art with cubist elements, and abstract paintings of latent sentiments expressed with intense colours.

All my works reflect emotions, deep sensations and deliver thought-provoking messages, connected to parts of all our lives.
Join me on this creative journey, and if you fall in love with one of my pieces, and if you can imagine it on your living room walls, don’t hesitate to contact me. And even better, you will be able to give a title to your new painting!

Artist statement

As an artist, every painting starts with a spark, an emotion, associated with specific colours. Whenever I have the urge to show these feelings in response to various events in my life, I create. It can be famous faces like David, Marilyn Monroe or the Mona Lisa, thought-provoking poses or places. What I was looking for, I found in cubism combined with realistic art. I can see everything around me built up of cubist elements – in a simple and still perfectly coherent way. Triangles, rectangles, squares and circles: I love to build a portrait, a landscape, a figurative or an abstract painting from them! I believe that when you look at my works, you experience the same intense feelings I felt when creating them, whether it depicts angelic tranquillity or the consuming nature of tabloids and the media. Emotions are always sincere, they are my driving force. Acrylics are my best friend – it dries quickly, keeping up with the rapid flow of ideas. With cubist elements, I can show how everything (our complex world) can be broken down into readable elements, even our thoughts and problems. Adding collage and gold is a must! Combining simplicity with mystique and glamour this way, reflects the complexity of all our feelings.
